What to do in Bang Kachao
Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park
Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park and Botanical Garden is a sprawling mix of lakes, forests and mangroves built on land owned by the Thai Government. It's a haven for bird-watchers and has a 3-story birding tower to boot, and it's a wonderful place to stroll or cycle around.

Bicycle rentals

The best way to get around Bang Kachao is by bike. There are bike rental shops by all piers on the island, with around 100baht/day rental being typical. You will need to provide an ID for them to hold onto.
Coconut Lane

Coconut Lane is a wonderfully well-designed cafe and hotel towards the south side of Bang Kachao built and run by a Thai-Dutch couple. The cafe is on the first floor and overlooks the farmland behind the hotel - so plenty of opportunities to spot animals. The food is also very good.
