Getting to Bang Kachao

Bang Kachao is very accessible year-round from central Bangkok - it's much closer than you think. Find advice below on how to get there. If you are intending to spot wildlife, taking a ferry and walking will give you the best chance of seeing things, but Bang Kachao is a huge area and Thailand is a very hot country - please plan accordingly.

Khlong Toei Pier

Address

59, 3 Sunthonkosa Rd, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110

Opening Hours

This ferry is for pedestrians and bicycles only. Motorbikes must go to the ferry in Bang Na or Rama III. The tourist boat is big and quite accessible - the cheaper longtail boats are faster and smaller, so potentially not ideal for people unsteady on their feet.

Opening Hours

Ferries run 24 hours a day. If you go during the daytime, the lady at the counter will put you on the tourist boat for 20 baht each way. The non-tourist boats are 10 baht each way - you can decide if it's worth the argument with the lady to save 10 baht (it's definitely not)
